About Vedic Village Resort, Kodungalloor

Vedic Village Resorts is an eco friendly holiday resort in the land of Muziris, surrounded by their various heritages. Muziris is closely connected with many of the great personalities like Adi Sankara, Kannaki, St.Thomas; home to Buddhists and Jews and as well as a favourite destination of Arabs, Romans, Portuguese, Dutch and the British.
Muziris was an active port in the 1st Century BC and the merchants had instituted Indo greek and indo roman trade channels dealing in gold and other metals, pepper and spices, gemstones and textiles. When the profile of the water bodies in the Periyar River basin changed in 1341 on the malabar coast the city port of muziris also vanished.

Accommodation at the vedic Village Resort

The cottages at th Vedic Village resort are built and decorated in a traditional manner to remind you of the great bygone era. They are built with coconut leaves , mud and other antique items but equipped with all the modern amenities.
There are 4 types of cottages namely King's Nest, Queen's Nest, Kovilakom / Illam and th Emperor's nest.

King's Nest is a beautiful cottage truly fit for the King, with 7 rooms facing the swimming pool. The cottage has a posh interior, open to the sky bathrooms and spectacular views of the backwaters.

Queen's Nest is a tastefully done cottage lets you u wind and relax in a style. The cottage comes with a serene setting of six rooms complete with all modern facilities as well as artistic Decor.

Kovilakom / Illam are two are impressive cottages done in the completely traditional Kerala Style with wood. They are surrounded by trees and reminds us of the ancient Kovilakoms which Kerala had in those days.

Emperor's Nest is the most luxurious of all is a combination of traditional decor and modern amenities.The plush interiors
along with the rich furnishings the room gives you the majestic look as well as a royal experiance of living.

Facilities available at the Vedic Village Resort are Boating, Kaliveedu, Help Desk, Swimming pool, Ayurvedai Spa,
All the rooms are equipped with the most modern amenities like Air Conditioner, TV and telephone. Internet facility is available.
Kaliveedu is an area for recreation, where you can snuggle cosily with a favourite book of yours and a cup of coffee or a fruit juice. You can play, relax or chill out, do what ever you like.
Ayurvedic Spa - You can have rejuvenation therapies with age old ayurvedic therapies of Ayurveda Treatments and massages given by experienced doctors and specialists.

Dining Facilities at the Vedic Village Resort

You can have mouth watering Kerala's cuisine at "Grandma's Food Court" lovingly cooked and served to the guests. You can get authentic dishes fron not only Kerala dishes, but also from Chinese, continental and other Indian cuisines. If you like to make your dinner romatic, you can have candle lit dinner by the pool side. You can also have food by the riverside restaurant where you can also treat your eyes to spectacular sights of the river.
