About Aazhimala Ayurveda Beach Resort
Aazimala is an exclusive beach, very much isolated from other tourists, which will be heavenly if you like to be private. Aazhimala is a small town of Chowara and the area of the resort is about an acre. The resort is situated in a sloping hill side with landscaped gardens and beautiful terraces, then you come to the golden beach nestled among the rock formations. The resort and the landscaped gardens add to the natural beauty of Aazhimala.
You can also see an assortment of wildlife including hawks, eagles, buzzards, lizards and chipmonks
How to Reach Aazhimala Ayurveda Resort
This resort is located at about 45 kilometers from the Kanyakumari of Tamilnadu and about 24 kilometers from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport of Kerala. The resort is placed at about 30 minutes drive from Thiruvananthapuram airport. You can get a prepaid taxi from the counters inside the airport itself to reach the AAzhimala Ayurveda Resort.
The Railway station at Thiruvanathapuram is also located very close and from there also you can get taxis from the prepaid taxi counters.
The roads are part of a well connected network. You can get Road transport busues running in the route. You camn also travel by auto rickshaws if you so prefer.
Accommodation and other facilities at tha Aazhimala Ayurveda Resort
The resort has about 17 independent Cottages with eco friendly thatched roofing and mud plastered exteriors with all the modern comforts. The inside of the cottages will have all the modern facilities, well furnished and decorated having an option of AC and Non AC.They also arrange many of the art forms you can find in Kerala like kathakali, the dance of India, Oppana, Parichamuttukali, kalaripayattu, Koothu, ChavittunadakamMargomkali and many more. They also have a fully fledged ayurveda / panchakarma treament centre, open air yoga and meditation facilities.

Ayurveda Treament facilities at Aazhimala Ayurveda Resort
Pizhichil takes about 14 dys treatment wherein you are given massages with lukewarm herbal oil all over the body by 2 -4 trained therapists. this is very useful for the patients suffering from Arthritis, pralysis, hemiphlegia, sexual weaknesses, nervous weakness etc
Njavarakizhi is a treatment by which the whole body or any part there of, is made to perspire by the application of certain mixes tied in to muslin bags. 2-4 masseurs apply this for bout one to one and a half hours per day for a period of 14 days. This is done for Rheumatism, pains in all joints, emaciation of limbs, high blood presure cholesterol and certain types of Skin problems.
Dhara / Thyla dhara - this is done mainly for the insomniamental tension and some skin peroblems .This is done by pouring medicated milk, butter milk, etc on the forehead by a special method for about 45 minutesin a day for period of 7 - 21 days as the symptoms demand.
Vasthi ( Matra vasthi, Sneha vasthi, Kasshaya vasthi) is done through for a period of 5 - 25 days as per the symptoms of arthritis, paralysis, hemiphlegia,numbnee, gastric compaints associated withrheumatism etc
Siro vasthi is done for 24 days by application of the lukewarm, medicated herbal oils poured into a cap fitted on the headfor 15 to 60 minutes per day according to the symptoms . This is effective for the facial paralysis, dryness of nostrils, mouth and throat, severe headaches and other vatha originated diseases.
Udvarthanam is for 14 days a typical massage with herbalpowders for abt 30 to 45 min daily for period of 14 - 28 days. diseases like paralysis, hemiphlgia, obesity and certain rheumatic ailments
Abhyangam is for 14 days special type of oil massage with which strokes are given accordinglt about 45 minutes /day for 14 days useful for obesity, diabetic gangrene etc.
nasyam for 14 days
herbal juices and medicated oils are applied through for 7 - 14 days this is highley effective for certain kinds of headache, paralysis, mental discomfort etc
Sneharpanam is for osteoarthritis, psoriasis ND Leukamia etc for 14 days medicated oils is given iternally for 8 - 12 days
Kizhi for 14 days
Herbal leaves and other herbalproducts are applied to the whole body with hot medicated oil for 45 minutes for 7 -14 days.osteo arthritis
Dhanymladhara, Yoni Parikshalanam, Kativasthi, Urovasthi, Ksheeradhoom, thalam and lepanam are some of the ayurvedic treatments undertaken here to get the patients completely cured. panchakarma is another ayurvedic treament which is aimed at Detoxification and cleansing through the 5 therapies for eliminating the toxinsfrom the body. are Vamana, Virechana, Basya, Bastiand raktamokshana. The detoxifying diet should always accompany this treatmeny, otherwise this trreatment is ineffective Additional treatments if any aaded to by the doctor while undergoing this panchkarma treament will not be charged.
