Montfort School located at Anakkara in the district of Idukki got established in the year 1995 and have clases from LKG to class Xii. The School is afiliated with the CBSE Board of Education and offers English Medium of Instructions. The school is a Co educational school school where boys and girls study together. They have separate hostels attached for Boys and girls.

The Monfort School has many facilities available at the school for the all round mental and physical development of the children studying in the school.
Science labsThey have laboratories, fully fledged and separate, for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science to develop the practical knowledge of the subjects they study in school.
The School has a huge and magnificient Library with alarge collection of books, magazines and periodicals to develop the knowqledge gained by the studies in the class rooms.
There is an open auditorium in the school for the children to show case their artistic talents, participate in the competitions etc. The students are also encouraged to put up shows here.
Digital Theatre is a multimedia facility which has been created to explore the new areas of Education as well as the cross disciplinary interaction among students that result when traditional and conventional skills join hands with computers.
The teachers in the Music and Art rooms are talented in different types of genre of music and a variety of instrumentals also. There are facilities for various types arts and crafts which will enable the children to recognize their talents and improve their abilities and knowledge. The teachers are well trained to teach and develop the student's talents.
There is a multi gymnasium with the latest range of accessories needed to keep fit and healthy. The Gymnasium is open for the students who train there as well as the staff for improving and upgrading their physical development.
Play finds an important place in the physical activities of the student life. Students are supposed to spend their Quarter of the day in the playground. They have facilities for Football court and gallery facility, Volleyball court, Kho kho Ground, Table Tennis court, Basketball court and the lawn tennis as well as Throwball court is getting ready. Swimming pool is also being planned as the next step.
Transport is available for the students for the convenience of the children travelling long distances daily. There are 5 transport vehicles which are available for students in Kumily, kattappana, Vandiperiyar and Anavilasam.
Admission process in Montfort School
The admission will be provided to children who are 4 and above for LKG and 6 and above for the class 1. Admission are generally done only for the nursery unless and if and only if, vacancy arises in the other classes. There will be an entrance test as well as an interview before the admissions and a result will be notified by the office.
The applications are available at the office and have to be filled up with utmost care and submitted with in the mentioned time. Admissions are open to all the children without discrimination of caste, creed, language or religion.
About withdrawals from the School
Children are admitted in the belief that they will be there at the school for the whole academic year. If the parent wants to withdraw the child before the end of the academic year, he will have to pay the entire amount of the fees plus the boarding fees
and only then the transfer certificate will be issued. The application for the TC should be made in writing by the parent or the local guardian and the management can also reserves the right to compel the parents to withdraw their children if their childrens' conduct is harmful or hurting to the other students of the school.
The school academic year is divided into 3 terms, May to August, September to December and january to April.
Irregular attendence, non payment of fees, habitual disobedience and conduct justifies dismissalof the student at any time of the year.
Malpractice if found during the examinations is a grave offence If guilty and for the first time zero marks will be given for all the subjects and if repeated can be detained or dismissed.
any misbehaviour inside or outside the campus which is liable to bring the school and the child a bad name will be dismissed and if the student fails twice in the same class will also get dismissed.
Courses of Studies in the Mont Fort School
In the Pre primary claases that is for LKG and UKG the courses will be English Reading, writing and conversation, Recitation, Number work, Health talk, Story telling, Lingua talk, Physical Education, Art, singing and dancing.
For the Primary and middle school that is Class 1 to class VIII

Hostel facilities at the Montfort school Anakkara
Boys Boarding at the Montfort School in Anakkara was started inthe year 2000 and aims to give a homely atmosphere where a happy friendly and spiritual relationship is fostered and maintained.
There is a separate Girls hostel too at the Monfort School. The rules and regulations should be listened to and disobedience will not be tolerated. The warden is the one deciding factor for the admission and withdrawals in the hostels.

The warden is the incharge of the hostel and the day to day administration is maintained by the warden. If a student is dismissed or withdrawn from the school automatically affects the place at the hotsel and also vice versa. Local Superior's word will be final in the matters of admission, accommodation and disciplinary action taken in respective of the student.
Every boarder is supposed to maintain the highest moral standardsof life. Rules of modesty and the decorum in dress should be strictly adhered to.Illnesses should be immediately reported to the warden and if it is seerios then the local guardian or the parent should take in charge. If the hostelite wants to leave the room between term, warden should be intimated two weeks in advance in a written letter signed by the parent
Visitors will be allpowed only between 1.30pm to 4 pm on Sundays after getting permission from the warden.
telephone calls can be received only between 7pm to 9 pm on weekends.On the second saturdays and terminal holidays the students can visit their homes but they have to be back at the hostel by the eve of the next working day by 5 pmAfter night prayer silence is to be maintained till the next day morning breakfast.
