Farook College is the largest residential post-graduate institution under University of Calicut. The College is established as a first grade college in 1948 and offers Programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as guidance in research in specialized fields.

For Meritorious students, another 5 scholarships of Rs. 6000/- per year by Dr. Valiyapalam Ahammed Kutty in memory of Peringat Thody Achutty Umma, Peringot Thody Aisakutty, Valiyapalam Mohammed, Valiyapalam Aisa and Edathody Ahammed Koya.
Edu-Support
This is a support to help financially backward students. The scheme is in addition to Poor Boys Fund and Students' Aid Fund, and more comprehensive. The scheme is supported by the PTA, FOSA Qatar Unit, Laila Yousef Al-Sagar(Kuwait), well wishers and the teachers of the College.

College Library
The College Library offers a valuable collection of books, periodicals, CDs and other audio visual aids. Library has an area of 27,000 sq. ft. in two floors - Ground floor and Upper Ground floor. Library offers OPAC(Online Public Access Catalogue) - a computerized catalogue service. Various services provided are Loan Service, Reference Service, Digital Library Service, Reprographic Service, New Addition Alert Service,
Current Awareness Service, User Education and Holding Exhibition on important occasions.
