Central Govt has opened a new Kendriya Vidyalay in Trichur - the second one in the Town. The KV is in the premises of Kerala Policy Academy at Ramavarmapuram. The Home Minister of Kerala Govt and the Kerala Police Academy was kind enough to provide all the requisite infrastructure necessary to run the School in their premises. Temporary facilities were provided on a warfooting basis to ensure that the opportunity to bag the KV in the Town is not lost. Education has always been a problem for the students and the number of Schools existing become less as the students from State run Schools switch over to CBSE syllabus. Moreover, the importance of KVs become more and more relevant as the education in private CBSE schools is vry costly now a days. Anyhow, it was a boon to have opened the KV in Trichur though only one batch each in Ist to Vth Standards are opened for the Academic year 2010-11. The Police Academy has earmarked 6 Acres of land for the purpose of new KV in Ramavarmapuram. Let us hope that the process for new building erection would commence soon so that the KV in Ramavarmapuram becomes a full fledged KV in all senses.
