College of Fisheries, situated at Panangad, near Kochi is the only college in Kerala which provide professional education facility in fisheries. It admits students to the graduate (B.F.Sc)from the list provided by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. Also a proportion of students are admitted from other States on the basis of a list given by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Govt. of India. Masters degree programmes with specializations and Doctoral programmes are also available at this institution.
Various research projects are also undertaken by the Faculty of the College.
This College was functioning under the Kerala Agricultural University (www.kau.edu)till recently. Now it gets transferred into a new University of Fisheries and Ocean Science being set up in the same location where the College is functioning.
