Rasool Pookkutty- The Sound Maestro

The Oscar award winner Rasool Pookkutty was born in 1971 in a place known as anjal in Kollam district of Kerala. He is one of the best sound designer as well sound mixers in the world Cinema nowadays. He was born in a Muslim family and his spouse name is Shadia. He was the winner of the Oscar award for his excellent sound mixing in the film named Slumdog Millionaire. He was the first Indian to hold this great achievement along with A R Rahman. He is also the winner of the National Award for best Audiography for his stunning works in the Malayalam film named Pazhassiraja in 2010. He is presently working with Hollywood, Bollywood, Tollywood , Mollywood as wella sin other languages.

Rasool’s Way to Success

Rasool Pookkutty was born in a poor family and he strived hard in his childhood days. He got the graduation from Film and Television Institute of India in 1995. He was shifted to Mumbai and start working with cinemas. He got his first movie in 1997 named Private Detective. He got a good recognition for his excellent works in the movies like Black, Sanjay Leela Bhansari, Musafir, Gandhi My Father etc. Then he showed his excellence in the movie named Ghajini starring Aamir Khan. First International Project was Slumdog Millionaire, for that he got the Oscar Award. After that he is exclusively working in all languages including Malayalam. Pazhassiraja was one of his excellent Malayalam film.

Achievements of Rasool Pookkutty

He is the winner of Academy Award for best sound mixing in 2009 for the film Slumdog Millionaire. He got the National Film award for best audiography in 2010 for his contribution in the film named Pazhassiraja. He was announced as Padmashri by Government of India in 2010. He also got a honorary doctorate by Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady in 2009. He was also the winner of BAFTA Award for best sound mixer in 2009 for his film Slumdog Millionaire. He was the winner of Bahadoor award and Asianet Film award in 2009.
