Bin Laden's death in Pakistan : Is Pakistan cornered ?

The diligent and prolonged operations conducted by the CIA has led to the death of Osama Bin Laden .

Investigationg in the direction of the secret courier of Osama Bin Laden , who was his messenger , CIA could track down Bin Laden , who lived a posh life in a fort like castle , which only lacked electronic communication devices . Osama feared that he would be tracked down .

Living in this castle situated in Abitabad , which is not so far from Islamabad , the truth has finally shown its face to the world , that Pakistan has extended a helping hand for the safe stay of this AlQaeda mastermind .

Pakistan will surely have to give answers for its double stand and the threat it has been creating by protecting Bin Laden . Though Asif Ali Sardari has claimed that Pakistan hasnothing to do with Osama Bin Laden , his words are just like small ripples in the pond water .

Coming days would really throw Sardari out of his sleep .

On the basis of what is reported in the media we cannot conclude that Pakistan is cornered. In such sensitive matters there will always be some factors not made known to the outside world.

Both for USA and the Pakistan there are domestic issues to be taken into consideration. For the USA the Presidential election is coming in the next year. So it is a crucial point to score a point for Obama over his possible opponents both in his party and the opposition party. Besides, Osama is the declared enemy No 1 of USA and if Pakisthan was to have supported Osama, the operation would have been in a different way. At the same time he may have to protect the Pakistani interest also. Therefor it is quite possible that he is projecting only part of the facts. Pakisthan is one of US allies since over 60 years. So US cannot dump Pakistan into lurch. In us the full truth may be know only to 3 - 4 persons.

As to Pakistan, Osama Bin Laden and the Al Qaeda are both a helping hand and a liability. Since Pakistan is fundamentalist Muslim Country trying to project as a champion of Muslim countries, they cannot appear to be against the Osama. At the same time they also know that Osama is the number one enemy of the USA and giving protection to Osama will put them against USA. Pakisthan is surviving only on the strength of the lavish aids being received from USA.Pakisthan also know that it is no match against America. Hence they will not take a stand of antagonising USA by supporting Osama. Would it have been possible for USA to strike without anybody in Pakisthan being aware in such a strategic spot like the military base and within such close proximity to the Capital of the country?

Under the above circumstances both the USA and the Pakisthan are just leaving the world to discuss and conclude in any way they want. Only time will tell some more facts of the case. The full truth may not be known at any time.

The response given by Ramanathan R is very much knowledgable . But according to the latest news reports , the commando operations had been conducted without contacting or consulting Pakistan , because US feared that the information would leak .

This peice of news really gives us an idea that even though the US would not like to make Pakistan its enemy , it surely keeps Pakistan in the shadow of trust .
The US should also reconsider the supply of arms and ammunition to Pakistan , because a good percentage of this is surely reaching the terrorist groups .

News reports say that the commandos returned from Pakistan in only three of the four helicopters that they had went in . The foruth one was destroyed by Laden's troop[s , presumably . Where did Laden get the rockets to fire a helicopter ? These questions do prevail .

Amidst all these , there are doubts on whether the dead person is Osama Bin Laden , because US has not given out any photos to authorise his death . DNA tests would give an affirmative even if the dead persons was Bin Laden's son . Anyway US has decided on publishing photos of the dead person .

In the following days things are bound to get more clear .
