The college authorities cooperated with the official Training Partner of the State government's Additional Skill Acquisition Program (ASAP) to provide the training to the youths in the region. The training program got just concluded on May 22, 2015. It is better to conduct such courses for the benefit of our youngsters so that they can come up and compete well with other people of same age from other states of the country.

Function Marking Closing of Camp

A simple and small function was organized in the premises of TKM Arts and Science College to officially mark the culmination of the camp. The keynote address of the function was given by Professor Achuthsankar S. Nair, who is the head of the Department of Bioinformatics in the University of Kerala. He called upon the participants of ASAP to use the official language of English with confidence and clarity. He advised them to use this language with skill and flair to move forward in life. During this function, Dr. Achuthsankar released a manuscript of the magazine prepared by the participants of ASAP.

This program is being implemented by the General and Higher Education Departments of Kerala government. This camp was organized to provide the required soft skills for the youngsters to move forward in life. Of late, the departments have identified that the graduates passing out from the colleges in Kerala struggle to speak in English before other people. They also were found to lack other soft skills for a bright corporate career. I take this opportunity to air your views on this event.
