Kerala Bhasha Institute to host intl book fair

The public sector Kerala Bhasha Institute (KBI) will organise fourth International Book Fair here from December 2.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, KBI Director P K Pokker said publishers of different languages were expected to participate in the ten-day programme.
Besides seminars on various topics, cultural programmes would also be held, he said.

Ms Lekhaji : It would have been better if venue of the International Fair is replaced for the word "here". In fact, the International Book Fair is scheduled from 2nd to 11th December 2010 by the Regional Centre at Calicut and hence this is called as Calicut International Book Fair 2010. Similar Fairs were held here in 2007, 2008 and 2009. The K B I is a semi academic and cultural institution and they are seeking the status of Deemed University from University Grants Commission. I am not belittling your contribution in SK.
