LD Clerk Qualification Change

The basic qualification for Lower Division Clerk (LD Clerk) post recruited through Kerala PSC is going to change from SSLC pass to plus two pass. This will loss the opportunities of many contestants.

Kerala PSC is the largest government recruitment agency in India. The most attended PSC Test conducted by Kerala PSC is the Lower Division Clerk (LD Clerk)test. The PSC test to Lower Division Clerk (LD Clerk)post was called to all districts simultaneously. So one cannot apply to Lower Division Clerk (LD Clerk)post of another district. Also a weightage mark is given to the applicants from the same district. That is if the applicants is residing in the district to which he/she is applying he/she will be given weightage mark.

The basic qualification of Lower Division Clerk (LD Clerk) post was a pass in SSLC.But in the 9th pay revision commission report submitted recently it is recommended that the basic qualification for the post of Lower Division Clerk (LD Clerk)is to be rised as pass in plus two.It is expected that this recommendation of LD Clerk Qualification Change will be accepted. So those who are going for ITI courses and other technical courses after SSLC will lose the chance to appear for Lower Division Clerk (LD Clerk)test.

The SSLC passed candidates were able to write only a few PSC Tests. The Lower Division Clerk (LD Clerk)test was one among them. Now rising the qualification had closed their doors.

The glamour of Lower Division Clerk (LD Clerk)post is that if one joins in early age he may even get IAS if his posting is in revenue department. Many had acquired IAS in such way and most of the LD clerks joined in revenue department earlier had reached the posts like District Collector,Deputy Collector,Thahsildar etc.Now all these posts will be a dream of SSLC passed candidates who have no plus two qualification.
