Subsequently, he joined the famous UC College in Aluva for pursuing his education at the degree level. At the degree level, his area of specialization was Chemistry. For the first two years in UC College, he more actively participated in various political movements outside the college premises. During this period, he gained necessary contacts in the District Congress Committee office and he could use them to his advantage later in his life. In the final year, he went slow on his political activities and concentrated on his studies so that he could pass the degree examinations. His timely change of strategy paid off and he not only passed the examinations but also secured good marks and grades.
