The Kerala University Honored the Malayalam film maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan , Malayalam Actor Mammootty and the Percussionist Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman with a Honoria D. Litt. for their performance and Contributions in their respective Field.

Education Minister M A Baby, Vice- Chancellor A. Jayakrishnan, Pro - Vice-Chancellor J. Prabhash and Registrar A.K Hashim were present during the award Ceremony
