Peppara Wild Life Sanctuary - trekking,bird watching and for wildlife enthusiasts

PEPPARA WILD LIFE SANTUARY

This sanctuary is situated in Thiruvanathapuram District.
Peppara is about 51 kilometers Trivandrum and is located
in route of Ponmudi hill station.. The area of sanctuary is
53 sq. kilometers.

The Peppara Dam built on the Karamana River.

The wildlife park has tiger, panther, leopard,
wild dog, lion tailed macaque, elephant, gaur,
sambhar, barking deer, mouse deer, wild boar,
Nilgiri langur, and Malabar squirrel.

Kerala Tourism Dept, State Forest Department
and the Kerala Water Authority have taken
a joint step to beautify the dam site.

Special Attractions:

Trekking to forest area.
Bonafalls,
Vazahuvanthole water falls,
Kalarkad waterfalls,
Visit to tribal settlement areas.

By Road : Thiruvanahtapuram through Vithurai Pepara.(44 Kilometres)
By Rail : The nearest railway station is
Thiruvananthapuram Central railway junction, (44 kilometers.)
By Air : The nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram airport (49 kilometers.)
