WAYANAD - FROM CALICUT

Wyanad is a beautiful hill stationsituated 2100m above sea level .The closest railway station is Calicut .It takes 2-3 hrs drive from Calicut city to reach Wayand.A place still uncrowded, friendly and clean -a place to relax away from city life.This hill station is full of plantations,forests and wildlife .Luxurious resorts and homestays are available .Also jungle huts ,tree top houses, mud houses are availabel for adventures travellers.Lakkidi is the gate way to wayanad . Pookode lake is one of the main attaractions near lakkidi .Its a natural lake set amidst the forest .There is boating facilities, childrens park etc .surise valley.Pazhassi park, Kanthappara falls,Kuruva island are majour attractions in this area.thirunelli temple,jain temples , valliyur temple , edakkal caves, pazhassi tomb etc are few other spots to visit .There are two main wildlife sancturies situated in Wayanad they are at Tholpetty and Muthanga .
