There is an entrance examination for the students studying in 5th standard.It is held usually in the second Sunday of February. Before that students need to apply for the examination.Only 80 students are selected from each district based on the performance in the examination and other reservations.

JNVs are the prominent schools under the Central Government.They offers classes from 6th to 12th standard.In Kerala we are having 14 JNVs, one for each district.Almost all the services are provided by the school.It is having a resident system with CBSE syllabus.
