Alzheimer's Disease and Turmeric (Curcumin)




We know that Turmeric has impressive medicinal qualities. It has been extensively used in 'Ayurvedha' (Indian System of Medicine) for centuries as a pain relieving, anti-inflammatory agent to relieve pain and inflammation in the skin and muscles. How many of you know that Turmeric can prevent Alzheimer's disease? The 'Curcumin' contained in the Turmeric has a potential role in prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Curcumin can reduce the oxidative damage of Brain cells. Curcumin also has anti cancer properties.

Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease. Alzheimer's destroys brain cells, causing memory loss and problems with thinking and behaviour. It affects work, lifelong hobbies or social life. Alzheimer's disease gets worse over time, and it is fatal.
