The 2010 J.C.Daniel Award has been announced. This award is given in honor of J.C.Daniel, who was the first film maker from Kerala. The winners are
1.Best Popular film : Pokkiri Raja
2.Best actor: Mammootty
3.Best supporting actor: Lalu Alex
4.Best actress: Navya Nair
5.Best supporting actress: Ambika Mohan
6.Best director: Lal Jose
7.Best lyricist: Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri
8.Best debutant actor: Samudrakani
9.Best debutante actress: Akhila
10.Best music director: Berny Ignatius
11.Best female play back singer: Rajalakshmi
12.Best male play back singer: Madhu Bala Krishnan
13.Best male child artiste: Master Vivas
14.Best female child artiste: Baby Anikha
15.Best special(male): Janardhanan
16.Best special(female): Ananya
17.Production controller: Sidhu Panakkal
18.Special jury award: Chembil Asokan & Mithra Kurian
19.Best novelist: Subhash Chandran
20.Best political aatire serial: Chakkara Bharani
21.Best short story: Aathmahathyakku Mumbu
22.Best debutant directors: Vineeth Sreenivasan, Salim Ahmed, Mohan Raghavan, Mamas, Vysakh, Martin Prakkat, Thomson

Lal Jose was given the best director award for the film Elsamma Enna Aankutty. The best popular film Pokkiri Raja is directed by Vysakh. Mammootty won the best actor award(film : Pranchiyettan & The Saint) while Navya Nair got the best actress award for the film Yugapurushan. Lalu Alex & Samudrakani were given the best supporting actor & best debutant actor awards respectively for their performance in the film Shikkar. Akhila was given the best debutante actress award & Berny Ignatius was given the best music director award for the film Karyasthan. Madhu Bala Krishnan won the best male play back singer award for the song Vridha Vanamundo from the film Yakshiyum Njanum. The awards will be presented at the Ernakulam town hall at 6 PM on 17 August 2011.
