The Nokia Lumia 800 is the latest smartphone from Nokia. It was announced on 26 October 2011 at the Nokia World 2011 event with Nokia Lumia 710. It was codenamed 'Sea Ray'. Now it is available in Kerala.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is the first mobile phone from Nokia to run on Windows Phone Operating System. By this, Nokia is keen to focus on Windows rather than Symbian and MeeGo platforms.

The phone measures 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm and weighs about 142 grams. The Operating system is Windows Phone 7.5. It has a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Scorpion processor and Adreno 205 GPU. The Lumia 800 has a RAM of 512 MB and ROM of 512 MB as well. The Lumia 800 comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitative Touch screen of resolution 480 x 800 pixels. The Gorilla glass display is an important feature.

The Lumia 800 has got Proximity sensor for auto turn-off and an Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotation. The camera is of 8 MP that can take photos upto 3264×2448 pixels resolution. It is powered with the Carl Zeiss optics. It also has HD Video recorder with 30fps speed. The camera features include Autofocus, dual-LED flash and geo-tagging. There is no front camera. The Lumia 800 has a built-in Memory of 16 GB. The phone does not have a memory slot, hence the memory cannot be expanded.

The phone has FM Radio with RDS enabled. The video player supports MPEG4, H.263, H.264, WMV and 3GP formats and audio player supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA and WAV formats.

The phone has got Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. It has G-Sensor, Digital Compass and A-GPS system also. The Lumia 800 comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Li-Ion 1450 mAh (BV-5JW) Battery gives a talk time of 13 hours on 2G and 9 hours 30 min on 3G. The Stand-By battery life is 265 hours on 2G and 335 hours on 3G. The battery also allows 55 hours of Music Playback.
Windows Live, MSN, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Picasa and Twitter are included in the built-in online applications.

Price and Availability

The Nokia Lumia 800 has hit the markets. It is priced around Rs. 30,000 with changes according to certain variations.
