The King And The Commissioner is an upcoming Malayalam political thriller which is directed by Shaji Kailas and scripted by Renji Panicker. The film features Mammoty and Suresh Gopi in lead roles.The cast includes Samvritha Sunil, Sanjana, Ganesh Kumar, Nedumudi Venu, Saikumar.

The King And The Commissioner is the new Malayalam movie which is directed by Shaji Kailas. The screenplay of the movie is written by Renji Panicker which is produced by Anto Joseph and will be released by Playhouse. The movie has 2 veteran Malayalam superstars acting together in the lead after along gap.

Mammootty and Suresh Gopi had acted together in the Amma film Twenty 20 but that movie had other stars too. This time in King And commissioner Mammootty and Suresh Gopi will go head to head against each other. Mammootty plays Joseph Alex Thevalliparambil IAS the district collector and Suresh Gopi plays the fire brand commissioner of police Bharath Chadran IPS.

In fact both these characters were introduced to Malayalam cinema long back by the dame team of Shaji Kailas and Renji Panicker. The duos have had a number of hits to their credit after they parted ways. Now they are back together to reinvent their magic with the film king and commissioner. One point worth mentioning is the fact that the Suresh Gopi had earlier played a guest role in the original film king. Suresh Gopi played the role of a police officer who was specialist in torture of the criminals.

The film had to wait some time to shoot due to various issues that had Mammootty and Suresh Gopi on the either side. Mammootty and Suresh Gopi were not willing to act together, but Shaji Kailas and Reni Panicker were instrumental in making both the stars work together. At a stage it was even thought of introducing Prithviraj in the role played by Suresh Gopi. But many argued that as the character required someone who needed to go hand in hand with Mammootty , Suresh Gopi was the only choice.Shaji Kailas knew the potentoal the film had when boty the se superstarscomes together. After many friendly conversations Mamootty and Suresh Gopi decided to act together.

The film also will have Samvritha Sunil acting opposite Mammooty for the first time as a heroine. Samvritha Sunil and Mammooty had come together earlier in Pothan Vava where she was not cast opposite mammootty. The film also has the Bangalore girl Sanjana playing a malayalam film after her debut in mohanlal starrer Casanovva.

The film is definitely worth a watch after all the Joseph Alex and Bharath Chadran had been the superstars that have entertained us for a long time.
