In the bandwagon of remakes like Rathinirvedam, Ina, Chattakkari, film maker Shajoon Karyal plans to go for a retelling of the old classic movie Vazhve Mayam. Earlier version of the movie was directed by K.S.Sethumadhavan which had Sathyan an Sheela in the lead roles.

Vazhve Mayam is the new remake that is on the cards.The film which became a super hit with Sathyan and Sheela in the lead will have Lal and Kavya madhavan playing the lead now. The original film was directed by K.S.Sethu Madhavan who made the film a super hit with his apt direction. The screenplay in the original film was done by Thoppil Basi to the story written by P.Ayyanesh. This time the film will be directed by Shajoon Karyal with the script written by Babu Janardhanan who is busy with a lot of projects like Bakthi Prasthanam,Pathira Manal,Kallante Kadha.

Vazhve Mayam will have a good star cast that will include main stream actors like Kunjacko Boban and Biju Menon. The film Vazhve Mayam was about a skeptical husband who always was suspicious of his wife. Even though he loved his wife, he always had the doubts about her in his mind. Sathyan enacted the role properly in the earlier version with Sheela. Sathyan had doubts on Ummer being in romantically related with Sheela and hence in a certain circumstance blames Sheela and throws her out of his house. Sheela goes back to her home where Bahadooor her father marries her to another man. In the end when Sathyan comes to know of the truth he is devastated by the truth and the knowledge that Sheela has now married another man. He blamed himself for the happenings and gets hysterical.

The movie was famous for the packed performance Sathyan had done in the film. Later after many years Sreenivasan is also known to have emulated the character with some success in another film. In the new film that will have Sahjoon Karyal directing Lal and Kavya will play the lead. The character of Ummer will be done by Kunchacko Boban.
