Anoop Menon has become a versatile star in Malayalam film industry. Even though he forayed into Malayalam cinema through acting, he has tried his hands at script writing and even in music lyrics. The new film Mullassery Madhavan Kutty Nemom P.O. will feature him in the lead. The film will have a huge star cast to the likes of all most all the mainstream actors in a Malayalam cinema. The heroine of the film will have debutant Sonal Devraj who had become a Miss Kerala runner up some years back.

The film will be directed by debutant Kumar Nandha to the story and screenplay written by Swathi Bhasker.The film will be produced by K.S. Chandran and Sam Varghese under the banner of Karthik vision cinemas. The cinematography of the film will be done by Shiv Ram and the music is by Rathish Vega who had done some memorable tunes in Cocktail and Beautiful. In fact it was Rathish who tuned the song Mazhaneer Thullikal written by Anoop Menon.The song went on to become the most popular song in 2011.

The film also includes a sone written by Girish Puthencherry and tuned by the late Raveendran Master. The dong has been sung by the veteran K.J.Yesudas. The song – pathi maayum chandrikaa will be the highlight of the film as a memorabilia to the veterans of Malayalam music. In fact this song was composed by the team for the film Chakram. The song did not feature in the film Chakram which had gone through a lot of troubles during its production stages. Anoop Menon bought the rights of the film from Johny Sagariga who had produced the movie Chakram.

The story is about Madhavan Kutty who is a government employee.In the Mullassery town. He is a normal guy who we can see in our day to day life. But certain unforeseen situations make him to a big dreamer and the film follows the happenings which occur then. The film can be related to any normal personas as his own story. This familiarity makes this film a perfect cinema to watch.

Such type of characterization and stories was common in the 1990s when Mohanlal did a lot of such down to earth common man roles. In fact it is such characters that we still remember in the face of cinema. Now Anoop Menon attempting such roles shows the way and the path this actor has passed through in Malayalam who does not accept newcomers easily. In fact it can be said that Anoop Menon has passed through a series of roles to being a valuable asset to the Malayalam film industry.

Let us hope that the character of Mullassery Madhavankutty will be one which will remember in our hearts for a very long time.
