22 female Kottayam short named as 22fk has the tag line no bullshit the film will have Fahad Fazil and Rima kallingal playing the lead roles. The film is directed by Aashiq Abhu.

Aashiq Abhu was the one director who had celebrated the year 2011. He had one of his best hits ever with the film Salt N Pepper sans any superstars. His first film was with superstar Mammooty in Daddy Cool. In fact salt n pepper surpassed the collection records of daddy cool making it a bigger hit purely on terms of script and direction. An opening any director would dream for. Hence it was only natural that everyone expected another hit film from him. As per plans he took out his dream project of gangster starring Mammooty out of the shelve, but due to unnamed reasons the film did not take off. He soon engaged himself with the wonderful script etched by Santhosh Etchikanam as the film Idukki gold. But unfortunately the film too got postponed. It was then that he came in to the picture of the film 22 female Kottayam.

The story of this film was developed by Abhi and Shyam Pushkaran . Infact this duo had written the script for the film themselves. The film is produced by ogee productions with a total budget in the range of 2.5 crores.

The story line of the film is simple with Fahad Fazil and Rima Kallingal playing the central characters. Rima plays Tesse Abraham who is a nurse who aspires to get out of the country for better prospects. it is in fact her life that comes into the frame of the film with Fahad Fazil playing Cyril Mathew who is her friend. The intricacies of the life of a 22 year old female in a city life are being depicted in this venture by Aashiq Abu.

The music of the film is by Rex Vijayan while Shyju Khalid is the cinematographer of the film. Fahad Fazil seems to be getting some of the best offers these days with him being the solo lead in the film. He is also acting as the solo lead in the film diamond necklace directed by Lal Jose. Fahad in his comeback to Malayalam has got some good films that he can be proud of. The films like Cocktail, Chaappa Kurishu and Pramani in which he was part of has raised his stature in Malayalam film industry as a bankable actor.

This film from Aashiq Abhu will have high expectations from all over Kerala. Considering the surprise hit salt n pepper became much will be expected from him in 22 female Kottayam. It remains to be seen whether he would be able to live up to the expectations of the film.
