Ingredients for Kerala Mutton Stew Recipe

Mutton - 1/2 kg
(cut into medium sized pieces)
Green chillies - 2 - 3 nos
Ginger - 1 small piece
(chopped)
Small onions(Kunjulli) - 8 - 10 nos
Pepper(crushed) - Few
Coconut - 1/2 of one
Onion - 2 nos
(sliced)
Cloves(Grambu) - 1 no
Cinnamon(Karugapatta) - 1 no
Baby potatoes - 7 - 8 nos
Salt - As reqd

Preparation Method of Kerala Mutton Stew Recipe

1)Fry sliced onions, till slightly brown.

2)Add slit green chillies, ginger, crushed pepper, cloves and cinnamon.

3)Add mutton and salt and fry for 5 mins.

4)Add potatoes.

5)Extract 1 cup of thick coconut milk. Keep it aside.

6)Extract thin milk, the quantity depending upon the quantity of the curry you need.

:- Do not make it too watery.

7)Add the 2nd or thin coconut milk and cook upto 3 whistles or till mutton is done.

8)After opening the lid, add whole small onions and boil for another 5 mins.

9)Add the 1st or thick coconut milk.

10)Cover with its lid and switch off the flame.

11)Garnish with coriander leaves, if desired.
