Education is expensive in the view point of ordinary citizen. But there is a system of education, which is not perhaps noticed by many. Even if noticed, the belief is that it is not providing the requisite standard. I am siting the education provided in Government schools. Most of the Govt. Schools are now well equipped with all facilities including computer facilities. Even smart class rooms are there in some of the schools. Teachers are also well trained and are getting regular refresher courses whenever any new changes are introduced. The results of these schools are showing drastic improvements these days. The relative cost per student is very low compared to other institutions. But, people are not fully aware of this aspect.

Like everything the education is getting costlier
for people who depends Private institutions.

Govt.run schools the it is still cheaper.
The teachers are well trained. The quality
of these schools are improved considerably
in recent years. This is surely not only by the government.
The teachers of these schools had put a lot of effort
bringing back the quality.

True that the teachers are putting in lot of efforts in Government schools to bring back its glory. There is support from the Government for this. The support comes from the State Government and through Sarva Siksha Abhayan (a Central Govt. scheme). Further the local self Governments have now the control over the Govt. Schools. Because of this physical facilities are improving a lot.

Under an able HM, lot of projects to improve the standards of the students can be introduced these days. Reading room, library, computer lab, science lab, work experience facilities, nature club, gardening, Health improving projects, Yoga classes, Supplementary Nutrition schemes, school magazines, etc. can be introduced.

cannot say that government schools cannot produce good students, but students studying at private schools are getting more exposure to the world than others.

comparing other states, education in Kerala is somewhat cheaper. Government schools in kerala is very good at the sametime they are cheaper than private ones. May be the facilities in the government schools do not make an impression in peoples mind as they compare those with the private one. Any ways education is somewhat cheaper in Kerala, no
