Jimmy George is a famous Volleyball player. His brother Robert Bobby George was a National Champion for triple jump. His sister-in-aw Anju Bobby George is champion of long jump and triple jump and has participated in the Beijing Olympic games as par of Indian team. His father was a famous university level volleyball player. Jimmy learned the game from his father. In the All India Inter-University Championship Jimmy George represented Kerala University 4 times. In 1973 he was the team captain.
He is winner of Arjuna award at the age of 21 and is the youngest winner of the award. He has also won the G V Raja ward and the Manorama award for the best sportsman of Kerala.
He died at the age 32 on November 30, 1987 in Italy in a car accident. He has a son born after 2 months of his death. After the death of Jimmy George in 1989 a foundation in his name was founded and an award Jimmy George Award is established for the best sportsperson of Kerala. The Jimmy George Foundation also give cash awards at St Joseph's High School, Peravoor and Devagiri college where he studied. The Trivandrum indoor stadium of the Kerala Government is dedicated to him and is named after him. There is an indoor stadium in Montichiari, Breccias, Italy dedicated to Jimmy Geroge and an annual junior tournament is organised in George's memory.

Jimmy George was born to a famous family and learned to play volleyball from his father who was also a great volley ball player. His father played in the University level.
