Ezhumangad is in Thrithala Assembly constituency

Posted Date: 23 Sep 2011      Posted By:: assainarkutty     Member Level: Bronze    Member Rank: 442     Points: 5   Responses: 3

I am from Ezhumangad - Arangottukara area. A detailed info about my village has already been given by Mr. Ramanathan A. R in Spiderkerala. I saw one of the responses posted by Mr. Ramanathan that Ezhumangad falls under Ottappalam assembly constituency which seems not correct. Ezhumangad is under Thrithala Assembly constituency. Ezhumangad was previously under Ottappalam Parliament constituency, the recent changes made ezhumangad to Ponnani Parliament constituency.

I was actually trying to add a response to that thread posted by him but could not succeed hence i post a new thread.

Thanks Mr. Ramanathan to bring our village to the web world.
Best Regards,

Assainarkutty

Thank you Mr Assainarkutty for your comments and suggestion. I have noted your suggestions. I was in Arangode-Ezhumangad just before the last assembly elections. I found many of the village persons going to a meeting at Karuvathur for the assembly constituency of Ottappalam. When inquired they informed that ezhumangad falls under Ottappalm constituency. However, I feel that Thrithala is nearer to Ezhumangad than Ottappalam. If you confirm the position, I will make correction.

I would also request you to get all details to include in the article so that it can be up to date. You may also suggest your friends from the area or nearby areas to comment and give suggestions to make the web site an detailed one. You may also request your friends from the area to give suggestion to include or improve.

At the end of the article after the ads, there is a provision add responses. You can type your comments in the box. Below the comment box there is a button "Browse". If you have any photo about relevant to Ezhumangad or Arangotukara, you can press the Browse button and select your photo to post the photo. After that press the 'Submit Response" button. Your comment will appear below the article.

With Regards
Ramanathan A R

Dear Mr. Ramanathan,

Thanks for your comments. I have ransacked some sites for getting information in response to your comments on the Thrithala Assembly Constituency , I would like to clarify the following:

However, all we know that Ezhumangad, part of Thirumittakode panchayat is under Ottappalam Taluk, the assembly constituency remains in Thrithala Assembly Constituency whereas the Parliament Constituency of Thirumittakode panchayat has been shifted from Ottapalam to Ponnani Parliament Constituency. Ottappalam is no more existing in the new delimitation list as Parliament Constituency, the territories under Ottappalam PC (Parliament Constituency) are being added to Palakkad & Alathur PCs. I recall our Honorable Vice President and then President of India Mr. K. R.. Narayanan was representing Ottappalam PC.

Thrithala Assembly Constituency was previously reserved for Schdeule Castes and it is now in the General category.

I am attaching the draft form of Government Notification of Order published in Government Gazettes in 2005 regarding the Delimitation of Assembly and Parliament Constituencies in Kerala State for your reference. This Notification also includes two Tables listing of all 140 (Table A) Assembly Constituencies and their extending panchayaths and 20 (Table B) Parliament Constituencies and their extending Assembly Constituencies.

This information is only about Ezhumangad side, it also noticed a significant change in Arangode side too… You may please verify those from the attachment.

Thank you for the clarification. I will try to correct the position in the post. If it is possible for you to get any other details about Ezhumangad and Arangotukara or other nearby villages like Pilakkad, Thali, Kaduakasseri, Thalasseri etc we can make details of the same in the web for future references.

With Regards
Ramanathan A R
