I don't think Tharoor is a POLITICALLY BACKWAR TEAM PLAYER as you think. The real problem is he knows more than others. His vision is different and he has different opinions.
The main controversy related to him is the IPL issue. But, now it is clear to all of us that now he is innocent. Actually, he did something good for Kerala and it's sports.
Then the other issues are related to him is the cattleclass. But he later made it clear that, cattleclass is a simple usage in English. Here too, the problem is he know something more in English.
He was also criticized about his staying in a Five Star Resort. But, he was staying there with his own money. He was not using the Government resource for that.
Sunanda Pushkar is also a black mark in his life. But that's only his personnel life. He has the right decide what to do in his life.

while partially agreeing with lijin, the issue is how sunanda got shares without investing that amounts to more than what is allowed as per company law. this is the issue that these shares were offered to tharoor for his efforts where sunanda is his binami.there is a corruption issue.at one point sunanda returns these shares when she found tharoor in soup.if it is in her legitimate right why should she? all this suggest some irregularity

Sunanda is not Tharoor's binami. The company which undertook Kerala KPL Team made it clear that Sunanda is a very good executive. Her presence in the team officials will make something good for KPL. That's why they gave her some share.
She is a widow. And she never want any further issues related to her personnel life. That's why she refused the share later.
Ofcourse. Tharoor is in the primary class of politics. He. need to learn more if he want to have a place in Indian politics. But it is not because he is corrupt or anything else, it's because the world around him is corrupt.

what about his statement in Sauduia accepting Saudi as a mediator between India and Pakistan, which is against the foreign policy of India WITHOUT SEEKING THE ADVISE OF HIS MASTER, THE FOREIGN MINISTER.I know lot of tricks in politics. Thachady Prabhakaran(expired) is my closely known to me from a mere congress worker he rose to DCC President. during this time an abkari bigwig approached him to get a stay for his arrears to govt amounting to 2.5 crore rupees. a stay was issued by revenue minister. he was peaceful for full five years. interest for this money for five years could be2crore Rupees the man saved, in return the abkari bought a brand new jeep and asked his driver to drop it at thachadi's residence and give him the papers.this is how the politician learned he could make money easily.then he started collecting money from job aspirants offering employment in kayamkulam spinning mill
