Coconut adds taste to many food items. In cooking this coconut plays a main role in Kerala because it is time tested and is available in most of the house gardens. Ayurveda suggests its use as a medicine in several cases, especially the oil extracted from coconut. People of Kerala apply coconut oil on head and body before taking bath.

Coconut tree is considered as Kalpa vriksham in Kerala. it provides everything people need. Everything from the coconut tree can be used for some purpose. No other tree is there like this.
