    What is a satellite

Many years back when thumba rocket launching station was launched, our respected politician EMS said, we dont want rockets, we want rice. truth is he didnot know what was it aimed for. today, entire communication, webservice,tv brodcasts, radio, climatological data, aircraft movement data and guiding, spy viewing of other countries strategic installations,in war and hostilities, information sharing etc.,everywhere satllite is the greatest serving partner for human kind.today we can view one's movement on a digital map of india through GPS/GSM service with 3meters accuracy. making opinions without knowing is senseless. in karnataka when Kentucky fried chicken came,The farmers made agitation. Their slogan was"We dont was potato chips,we want micro chips"

To day satellite are used in a wide variety of applications including direct broadcast television, wireless cable, cellular telephone, video tele-conferencing. Special sports programmes like cricket, news, and movie broadcasts have been telecast because of satellites. Recently artificial satellites have also been launched to photograph the moon. In AT&T Corporation of America has filed an application for the launch and building up of a global network which would dispense with in due course of time, the present telephone system . To that extent the agitation of farmers of Karnataka "We do not want potato chips, we want micro chips" have proved "Bengaluru" right as being the silicon valley of India where Presidents of USA and Gates of Microsoft have visited, to see for themselves the growth of our "Infosys" and "Wipros"
