Can the newly elcted Local bodies deliver the goods ?

The election to local governing Bodies were conducted last month and in almost all the Corporations/Panchayats/Block offices, new bodies have been set up and assigned the responsibilities .. My sincere question in Forum is "" WOULD THE NEW BODIES CAN DELIVER THE GOODS ? CAN THEY RISE UPTO THE LEVEL OF EXPECTATIONS OF THE MASSES ? OR WOULD THEY ALSO BE WALKING OR SAY SNAILING THROUGH THE TREADDED PATH OF THE YESTER YEARS CONTINUOUSLY BLAMING THE MIS DEEDS OF THE YESTER BODY ? ""

In my simple opinion, the Congress or say UDF can deliver the goods though not in all the Bodies provided they take the bold step of blocking the Groupism and work in unity..

I leave the matter for the discussions in Forum..

With the formation of various committees in the local bodies, the inner party groups of Congress has started to raise her ugly head outside. This leads us to believe that they are all power thirsty. They have to find a leader like VM Sudheeran who can get rid of all groups and work together. They must do so. Otherwise, the forthcoming elections for Kerala assembly will tell a different tale. After all, they are now in the public court and it is the public who will decide their fate. If united, they can definitely deliver the goods and win the forthcoming Assembly elections with a good majority.

The present day conditions prevailing in local bodies are vulnerable to work positively, if the elected governments want. Funds are available from different sources. They should try to tap it and make use of it targeting real development of the area.

Constructing roads and buildings alone are not development. Up bringing of the living conditions of the people there must be given priority. Production oriented planning must be done.

Clean atmosphere to be created. Education facilities to all must be guaranteed. Pure drinking water and sanitation facilities have to be provided. For all this funding can be obtained from different sources.

Through watershed development agriculture production can be augmented and made sustainable.

Basically a united approach with political will can attain all these.
