The effort that Indian Football Federation put forward is not up to the mark. If th federation is taking keen interest for the growth of football in India by conducting international friendly matches and other international matches, then may be in this century itself FIFA will conduct football world cup in India.

Even if India has exposed in the past that we are able to host international sporting events, I believe it is not good enough to host such a top most event FIFA world cup. Still we have many limitations in our transportation, Stadiums, protection and other facilities. It seems that our country required improving its infrastructure in a better manner. Also India has to be raised its Football ranking by performing in other international tournaments to grab FIFA's attention to think for giving such a huge project. Also India has to prove its capability of handling financial resources and by hosting more other Football events. The Indian Football federation can do very much in this matter.
Though there may be a possibility for India to host the FIFA Cup in this century, I think it is not expectable in sooner because of above reasons. If India take hard efforts to lift its FIFA ranking and show substantial development in above matters, definitely India will host FIFA World cup in this century itself .

If there is a need, there is a way. If the cricket in India can be at the top in the world, why cant Football - the common mans game ? Good sponsors and a determined Sports ministry - of course under a young sincere sportsman ( but not a politician )- can only change the football atmosphere in India. Sometime after few decades or latter part of the Century, Indian Football may be the champions.

India proved that it can host any international event, by the successful conduction of the delhi commonwealth games. But this management skill is not enough for hosting FIFA world cup. Because, India should prove that it can be a big football nation. With a constant performance and obtaining a rank around 150 will not help India in this. It should have a constant improvement and should prove the world it's potential. Before trying to host the world cup, India should make it to at least top 50 and should play some world cup. Without all these, our dreams should remain as dreams alone. So first priority to improve our performance and develop a strong and powerful team. The rest is all about management skills and public relations techniques, which India could easily achieve

This thought is a nice one.I think it is because India will get an entry to the world cup directly being the host of the tournament!Hope the FIFA rule will not change by then!
The much awaited CW Games came to India and we realised it.But it was followed by the largest background games which is the real discussion all over the world rather than the CW Games.So what will be the case if India hosts an Olympics or FIFA World Cup then?Really unthinkable.
