Yes. I endorse view that the Nedumbassery Airport should be renamed as K Karunarakaran Airport. It was only due to his efforts that such an Airport was materialised and if the name is awarded in his memory, it is just befitting to the great "leader". Let us all forget the demise of the 'leader' and join together irrespective of political hues to clamour our demand to rename the Airport in the name of K Karuakaran.

No, It was his duty at his time to reign to put his efforts in the materialization of Nedumbassery airport.The airport has gained so much popularity due to the effort of the officers and the NRIs who have funded it and are maintaining it.The airport is the best of the present 3 International airports in kerala.Look at Thrivanathapuram airport anyone who comes that way will say that its the worst airport in the world.Although he was a good politician in the view of public and his admirers and His demise is a great loss to kerala politics as some say.
Thiruvanthapuram airport can be renamed after him because its all the same happening there ,corruption ,all sort of malpractices are there ,so to better match with his name Thrivanathapuram airport is the best.
There is no need at present to rename Nedumbassery airport with His name after the airport has gained so much popularity,if its to be done so then there would be many many such projects which should be renamed first,and again there are many soldiers who have fought for our country and died,if some Honour is given for them then its is worth.I dont say that he was a good politician,he was always looking for a chance to place his son and daughter at some political post.After His demise everybody is praising him...why is it so was he not corrupted....

Yeah. It would be nice to name CIAL after Karunakaran as it was his brainchild. CIAL is a shining example for Karunakaran's speed and efficiency when it comes to executing projects. It would be a fitting tribute him.

No i dont think that, there is no need to for CIAL to be named after Sri K.Karunakaran. I t's been a regular practice in kerala that every politician is raised to kind of stardom, glorifying after they passed. How can you change the opinion on that man after his death, how you forget you what you said about him while he was alive.
Sri K.Karunakaran was a efficient politician,but was really corrupt. The CIAL was built the effort of Sri Karunakaran, but he was having gains from it, majority of the plots surrounding were in his hands.

Yes, I totally agree. It would be a great tribute to the leader if we rename the Nedumbassery International Airport as K Karunakaran International Airport. This project has been successful just because of his courage and determination that this. Some of his views were just beyond what other genius can think of. This project is the real example for that. The main reason for the success is his decision to get funding from private sector to build a public Ltd Company. After this success whole country followed this method... So it is a small justice to him if we rename it as K Karunakaran International Airport.

Here we have to think about some conditions.One is What is the need to rename it at present ?
Really Sasi Tharoor had played a politics here.As a congressman he found that Karunakaran should be honoured.The best was to give the name of an airport.But this practice of renaming will cause many problems in international level and databases.Those things are to be considered first.
Another thing is that name is given after death of the person.As Raj asked if his hands was so influencial why should it have named in his life time itself?Being a chief minister he did his role in its development.That is all.No more duty was carried out by him rather than this.It is the NRIs who had done it well and hence better to give a name of the top share holder rather than this corrupted man.
