Foreign Investment in the Educational Sector

Union Human Resources minister Kabil Sibal has stated in New Delhi that the government will open up the educational sector for foreign investment. He said that India will need an investment of Rs. 80,0000 cr in the educational sector in the next 10 years. This investment will go to 1,000 new universities, and 45,000 new colleges. Besides this, the government is seriously considering connecting major educational centres of excellence through broadband networking, so that the exchange of knowledge and ideas can be accelerated. At present, in India, 14 million students are attending colleges. This will go up to 40 million in the coming 10 years. Finding enough qualified teachers to meet this requirement is a herculean task, he said. According to him, this problem can be solved only thru the extensive use of information technology in the dissemination of knowledge across the country.

I think the universities and educational institutions in India are enough to give good quality education to the students of this country. Without foreign investment they are running well.If foreigners also come our students will have to compete well.It will rise the quality of our education. But naturally many of our students will also go back without able to manage the contest stress.
