Isn't It Time To Abolish Nokkukooli?

Posted Date: 21 Jan 2011      Posted By:: Joseph Antony     Member Level: Gold    Member Rank: 3     Points: 1   Responses: 2

Hi,

Nokkukooli is a devilish practice unique to Kerala. Despite being a highly literate and politically conscious community, this evil trade union practice is still very much around in Kerala.

Don't you think it is time to wind up this obnoxious practice?

Please respond.

Where there is a will there is a way.

NOOKUKOOLI is an insult to self respect of the so called politicians. It should have been abolished ago.

It is a pity that this practice of taking 'Nokkukooli' for doing nothing is still in force in certain areas in Kerala. Most of the political parties, especially the left, had decided against this practice years back. Or is it that the leaders taking decision are not able to implement it? Followers are not always giving due weight for the decisions taken by the leaders or organization.
If the above practice is extended the agriculture labourers can demand nokkukooli for the work done in the kitchen garden !
Anyhow this practice is followed only in this part of the world, perhaps.
