2014 Onam celebration at my college was indeed a memorable day in my life. There were outstanding events and competitions held during this day which includes uriyadi, kalam thallipottikkal, chakkilkayari ottam, vadam vali, kuppiyil vellam nirekkal, rottikadi, malayali manka and malayali mankan competition, floral carpet competition, and many more. Everyone enjoyed this day to their fullest and will always remember this day. It was definitely a visual treat to see every students dressing in traditional Kerala style and were hunger to take their pictures. Onapayasam were also been served during this auspicious occasion. As a whole it was indeed the best Onam celebration i had till now.

Adding to my above response i would also like to share my small Onam experience with my family. On the day of Thiruvonam all my family members including me joined to prepare a delicious Onasadhya. Its was my first experience in kitchen and i understood how difficult it is to finish a mouth watering Onasadhya. But somehow or other we managed to end up the show in style. With pappadam, parippu, pachadi, kichadi, thoran, sharkara varatti, upperi, and all we had a marvelous Onasadhya which will always be a memorable day for me. Now waiting for the response from other members.

National Service Scheme (NSS) of my college also made this year's Onam special for me. Being a volunteer of NSS, i was proud to serve something for the society during this festive season. A whole day at 'Prathiksha Bhavan', a rehabilitation center for differently abled children organized by NSS team was indeed memorable for me. Onasadhya was sponsored in Prathiksha Bhavan by our students and later a section to entertain the children with Onam games.

I was proud that as an NSS member i could do some welfare activities for those children who lives between the four walls of Prathiksha Bhavan. Hope every malayali could do as such and make their Onam a special one. Happy Onam.

This time I celebrated my Onam for my heart's content. Today I celebrated my Onam in three places -in my church, home and in our club. After the Qurbana our father said about the importance of Onam and celebrating it. Later that we drank the Payasam that we Youth Association members made. Then we also played many Onam games. After that I went to my home and helped to make the Onam Sadhya and I had to do a hard work grinding the coconut, cutting banana leaves and chopping the vegetables. When it became about 1 in noon we had the sadhya with all sort of delicious curries like Avial, Sambhar, erisseri, inchi curry and so on and at the end I had another cup of Payasam that was made up of wheat. I drank almost 5 cups of Payasam. A tip to the readers is that when you drink Payasam mix some papad and banana to it to make it tastier. Then I managed to get some rope and set up a swing in the mango tree and we cousins swung in the air. Next was at our club which was in the evening times . A lot of entertainment programmes were conducted there which include Kalam thalli pottikal, Onam pookalam, Chakkilottam, Vellamkudi and the last and best, the coir tug. It was a huge war I and my team tried a hard to win the prize but we lost in the semi final and got a full bunch of banana as a runner-up prize. Over all this Onam season gave me some cheerful and memorable moments and I hope everyone has celebrated their Onam and I wish all of you a very happy and prosperous Onam.

It was the best onam for me, my family and I celebrated the day to its fullest. early in the morning I was greeted by the call of my mom who works in Uttar Pradesh, she wished me happiness for onam this made me very happy. I woke up and went to my grand parents house that is situated close by my house after wishing my father and my brother who were at home. There I wished my grandparents and evoked there blessings, this pretty much made my day. And as it was a sunday my family and I headed towards our parish church, there we prayed for our needs and for the prosperity of this years onam celebration. After that we all returned to our home and headed to our grandparents home as it was a customary to celebrate Onam over there every year. There we all sat together and helped each other in preparing dishes for onam banquet.

During the course of which my sisters and I had lots of fun singing and playing around. As I am the youngest of my siblings and infact the youngest among my relatives too so i get a special attention which i love to have. It is the job of we children to get the leaf ready so we all went out and brought banana leaves and cleaned it by the time Onam sadhya was ready. The moment for which we all were eagerly waiting. The leaves were placed and took there places and aunties started serving dishes and we all ate to our fullest. After this we all sat together and watched Drishyam on my brothers laptop, tough i had watched that movie once watching it with family was a special feeling.

By the completion of the film it was 5:30. So we all hurried and got ready to go to St. Mary's Cathedral where there was mother Mary's perunaal. On reaching Cathedral we were welcomed by millions of illumination that filled our minds with happiness and joy. We took part in perunaal and then did small shopping and witnessed the fireworks in the cathedral. So this year the Onam along with the perunaal was a dream come true, it was a great platform for us to bond together and get to know each other and to spend time with one another.

The above mentioned was the celebration with my family. Now taking a back stroll a day prior to onam few of my friends along with me went to visit my teachers house his name is Pradeep Sir. Sir had called a few of us for the Onam celebration at his home, we friends took 4 bikes and as the place was a little far away had a small road trip. On our way we bought few chocolates, few packets of chips and some edibles associated with onam. We reached his home by 10'o clock in the morning, on reaching there we were welcomed by a very sweet family consisting of sir's wife, his two childrens and his grand parents, everyone was so warm and welcoming that we friends were very happy being there.

We first greeted each other the wishes for onam and then we were presented with lots and lots of different delicious snakes and we all sat together with children and had a lot of fun and frolic. We talked to sir about the upcoming projects and competitions that our class was conducting and as he was our class tutor he was actively participating in the discussion. Then it was time for Onam sadhya that sir had specially prepared for us, we were all so happy and we all sat together and had the sadhya it was so delicious and tasty that we all thanked maam for having taking pain for making such a good sadhya. Then we had paysam and we all and played with kids and adored the pookalam that was prepared by then. By the time it was getting late and we all wished them once again and started our road trip back to our hostel.

Apart from this we had our celebration at college which was also commenced will perfection and one commendable thing was that this year we did not had a fight and all the credit goes to our teachers who worked hard to make it that way. Our celebration in school started with a procession across the campus by different branches then we had a few rounds around the campus and we all came back to main ground after the inauguration ceremony we all headed to the place where there was contest for best malayali boy and girl. It was very interesting to watch after which there was water drinking competition in which one of my friend Manu took part and he also won the competition. After this there was uriaddi, all this competition are conducted group wise there are four groups in college and I belong to Pegasis. And in uriadi we got second prize. Along side this there was pookalam competition that was being conducted in our drawing hall and we backed first prize in it.

The main attraction of the event was tug of war and it was also the last event of the day and it culminated with Horos winning the tug of war. After this there was the prize distribution and culmination event in which the house that emerged first was declared.and there was a closing speech by director then all were served delicious payisam after having that we all headed back to our homes.

Hope that all of yours Onam was also colorful and joyful. I signing out by wishing you all a very happy and prosperous Onam.
