Manthrikan is an upcoming Malayalam Comedy entertainer coupled with horror. This film is a directorial venture of Anil Kumar. Star of family viewers Jayaram will play leading role in this film with Panjabi beauty Poonam Bajwa. Script writer Rajan Kiriyath has penned the screenplay for this fulltime comedy entertainer. Through this film director AnilKumar has introduce some new faces into Malayalam film industry including Natesh, Sukanya, Swapna and Linta Thomas. Apart from them movie include Ramesh Pisharadi, Kalabhavan Shajon, Suraj, Riyaz Khan, Lena, Mahima, Murali Mohan, Kottayam Naseer, Radha Nair, Mini Arun, Devan, Riza Bava etc, are give life for other major characters.
Poonam Bajwa plays the heroine character with Jayaram. This is the second time she is pairing with Jayaram after the film China town. Poonam Bajwa is a Panjabi actress concentrating mainly in Tamil and Telugu. She got most of her roles as second heroine. Through this film she tries to hold her foot strong in God's own country. Mukundanunni is a son of wizard Manappali Bhattathirippad. He didn't like to follow their hereditary job of sorcerer. So he gets engaged into another field and chooses farming by taking land on lease. His friends Subramaniyan and Shekharankutty are always with him for all his work. They are going to take land on lease from Nettikadan brothers, who are gullible people. The team of Mukandanunni not at all an angel and they went to meet Nellikadan's in the intention of exploiting them using their tricks, since they are fools. An attractive girl named Malu appears suddenly and joins this group. From that Mukundanunni has an additional liability to protect her. This concern slowly ends with falls in their love. Thus a day she was kidnapped by another gang and his enquiries lead him nowhere. This will introduce some spicy in the film. 
Mukundanunni's father a sorcerer has locked a witch safely in a Shenoy mondir, now that was escaped from there. This house now belongs to a businessman and he meets Mukundanunni to entrap the witch once more to avoid the disturbance created by it. Mukundanunni forced to accept their request and go with them. He meets the kidnapped Malu on there. This will create some doubtful questions. Can he able to lock the witch? How Malu reached there? What is the mystery of her presence on there? What is the relation between Malu and witch? The director has created several incidence and suspense to reach answer for these questions. This will take the story into suspense. Shooting of the movie Manthrikan was carried out in GundalPettu and Kudak and also some places in Kerala, and hope to complete the film in this year itself. Viewers can expect another thrilling performance from Jayaram on this movie. There are lot of films are came under the theme horror, but director says that the film is entirely different from others, let's hope a nice presentation from the director. Jayaram going through a successful season of films, hope this also put a gold feather on his cap.
