Ingredients Used In Parippu Vada
• Chana dhal or toor dhal – 1 Cup
• Ginger – 1 Inch piece
• Dry red Chilies – 3 No's
• Shallot – 12 no's
• Curry Leaves – 1 Sprig
• Salt for Taste
• Cooking Oil – 1 Cup
How to Prepare Parippu Vada?
Soak Dhal in water for 2 hours and drain it make sure that it should get drained fully.
Chop ginger, dry red chilies, shallots, curry leaves finely.
Grind Dhal to a course paste without adding water to it make sure don't grind it to a smooth paste.
Add chopped ingredients and salt to the grounded dal and mix it well.
Make your hand wet and make 8 equal sizes of balls with the mixture. Make the ball to round shape by pressing it with your palm.
Pour enough oil into the deep bottom pan and heat it. Then the hot oil reduce the flame and deep fry vadas which is prepared and make it to deep brown color.
Now it all about over and serve the parippu vada with puvam pazham which is special in Kerala cuisine with a cup of tea.
Tips to get Good Results
1. Mix both Chana and toor dhal can also be used
2. Shallots and dry red chilies can be replaced by onion and green chilies.
