When we hear some name of dishes that time we feel to taste it still stay in our tongue. Because we like some dishes that much. Crab Roast is very tasty non- vegetarian food. So, take my tips and preparing procedure for a delicious Crab Roast dish for your tasty tongue. The Crab Roast is very famous dish in Kerala. We can take this dish with rice, kappa, iddiappam, pula/roti etc…
Ingredients for Crab Roast
• Crabs – 250 gm, after cleaning
To roast & grind
• Coconut – ¾ cup
• Small onion – 4, sliced
• Ginger & garlic – 1 tsp each, finely chopped
• Curry leaves – 6 leaves
For the Masala
• Onion – 2 med-big, sliced finely
• Green chilli – 2-3, slit lengthwise
• Ginger & garlic – ¾ – 1 tbsp each, crushed
• Tomato – 2, sliced
• Kashmiri chilli powder – 1½ – 2 tsp
• Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
• Thin coconut milk/water – 1 cup
• Coconut oil
• Curry leaves
Preparation Method for Crab Roast
Take a pan pour little oil in it and heat the oil. Roast the all given ingredients under 'to roast and grind'.
Roast it till the coconut turns dark brown colour. After roasting allow it to cool for some time.
Without adding water makes a grind the roasted ingredients into a fine power. Keep it aside.
Pour little oil into a deep pan and heat it. Put thinly sliced onions into that pan and fry till it change brown color.
Crush the ginger, garlic, green chilli and make a paste and add it. Boil for a few minutes.
Include Kashmiri chilli powder & turmeric powder. Cook for about few minutes till the fragrance. Take sliced tomato, salt, curry leaves and add it.
Fry till the tomatoes become soft & oil starts appearing. Add cleaned crabs and mix well.
Then add lean coconut milk and mix well. Now you have Close a pan with lid and then cook.
Fry till the crab's cooks well. Add the ground roasted coconut & mix well.
Now you can serve this crab roast with hot rice, pulao etc…
