How to prepare Kerala karimeen polichadhu?


Everyone likes to eat fish fry, fish curry, fish chilli, fish briyani, etc. But we can try fish fry in a different way. Are you thinking is it possible? Yes it is possible. It can be done by preparing karimeen polichadhu. Karimeen polichadhu is a full fish fried with masala. You can prepare this karimeen polichadhu in your home.

Karimeen is a kind of fish which has more flesh within it. Its taste is better when we prepare curry with this fish. This Kerala karimeen polichadhu means that a full fish is marinated with some masala and deep fried it in oil. The karimeen polichadhu smell is so nice because it is fried with coconut oil. It is very easy to prepare and it consumes less time for preparation. Read the following steps to prepare Kerala karimeen polichadhu.

Ingredients required for Kerala karimeen polichadhu


1. Karimeen: 2
2. Lemon juice: ¼ cup
3. Dry red Chilli powder: 10 g
4. Pepper powder: 2 tsp
5. Turmeric powder: ½ tsp
6. Garlic: 5
7. Small Onions : 5 (chopped)
8. Salt :as required
9. Oil:(for frying)
10. Coriander leaves: few

Steps to prepare Kerala karimeen polichadhu


Step 1: Clean the fish with water. While washing the fish in water some crystal salt is added into the water to remove waste and raw smell of fish. Do not cut the fish. Use the full fish as it is.

Step 2: Add lemon juice to the fish and keep the fish aside for some time.

Step 3: Grind small onion and garlic and make a fine paste.

Step 4: Marinate the full fish with grind onion, ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder salt and keep it closed for few minutes

Step 5: Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the fishes one by one until it turns into golden brown. Fry both sides of the fish well so that it produces excellent fragrance.

Step 6: Garnish it with onion and some coriander leaves. Serve it with rice. It can be served along with mint chutney.
