The fish cutlet can be used as a side dish or it can be used as a snack during tea break. It is a crispy and tasty dish. It consumes less ingredients and it takes less time for preparation. Ingredients required for fish cutlet
1. Fish: ½ kg (any kind)
2. Bread Crumbs: 2 tsp
3. Egg Whites: 2
4. Green Chilli: 1
5. Garlic: 10 (piece)
6. Ginger: 1 (medium)
7. Black Pepper: ½ tsp
8. Onion: 2
9. Turmeric powder: ½ tsp
10. Red Chilli Powder: 2 tsp
11. Oil: (for frying)
12. Salt: (as required)
Preparation methods for fish cutlet
Step 1: Clean the fish well with water and salt to remove the raw smell.
Step 2: Mix red chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt with little water.
Step 3: Marinate the fish with above mix and cook it well.
Step 4: Mash the fish without adding water.
Step 5: Grind onion, green chilly, ginger, and garlic to a fine paste.
Step 6: Heat oil in a pan. Saute the above paste well until the raw smell of the onion and ginger disappear
Step 7: Add mashed fish, salt, onion paste and black pepper powder.
Step 8: Take some amount of above mix and make it like a small ball and flatten it.
Step 9: Beat the two egg whites in a bowl until it become thick.
Step 10: Dip the flatten fish into the egg white and coat them over the bread crumbs
Step 11: Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the fish till they become golden brown in colour. Now the fish cutlet is ready to serve.
Step 12: Garnish with onion and coriander leaves and serve it with hot tea.
Extra tip: You can also use corn flour for coating. It gives crispness.
