There had been a period when the malayalam television channel viewers had to sit in front of a channel with no choice to change their mind. People had to satisfy with the various programmed offered by channel owned by the government. But now, things have changed with the arrival of private channels. There are around 20 plus channels exclusively in malayalam language offering a varied programmes. Other than channels presenting News and Sports, channel lovers can enjoy movies, music and others depending upon their interest.

The year 2013 had seen the arrival of a couple of malayalam channels including those of Kaumadi TV, Media One and Surya Music. Few more channels are behind the screen gearing up to deliver the best for the viewers. Anew channel in under preparation exclusively for news and current affairs mainly focusing on business, knowledge and economical development of state.

Initiated by the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the channel will be helmed by prominent journalists who had proved their mettle working with various channels in the past. Bhagath Chandrasekhar, one of the most experienced journalists would stand in front as the CEO of the channel while P T Nasar would serve as the chief executive officer. With an aim to fly high, the channel is designed to stand in front with features of international standard. Set to launch the channel by January 2014, an office is being functioning at Marine Drive, Kochi.

The channel war in malayalam media would reach its zenith with the introduction of TV Now. KCCI and India Middle East Broadcasting Network a group of eminent broadcast journalists from South India will be delivering a channel which would dare to straight talk to the masses in a candid and engaging style. Bhagath Chandrasekhar who had shown his mettle an investigative journalist would be an asset to the channel who had contributed his part to raise the TAM ratings.

With Bhagath Chandrasekhar heading TV NOW, the channel would gain an important position in the Malayalam television industry. The highlight of the channel would be the inculcation of HD technology with Dolby sound track, well connected high-end news rooms and 360-degree studio with outstanding screen layout, graphics, image and fonts.
