The Kerala government has recently introduced the Tourist Visa on Arrival, TVoA facility for the foreign visitors of the state at Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi International airports in order to give boost for tourism. Presently the Tourist Visa on Arrival TVoA facility is available for the foreign citizens belong to 11 countries. The names of the countries Finland, Japan, Indonesia, Laos, Luxembourg, Myanmar, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia. The facility of issuing TVoA has made functional at Thruvananthapuram International airport from August 15, 2013.
Fee, validity and regulations for issue of Tourist Visa on Arrival, TVoA
Tourists from the above-mentioned 11 countries can make a request for a visa upon their arrival to Kerala state at any of the two airports. Special Tourist Visa on Arrival counters have been arranged at both Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi International airports. The fee for TVoA is 60 US dollars and the validity of the TVoA is 30 days. In a year, tourists can avail the issue of visa twice. The tourists need to come for sightseeing, recreation and for meeting friends and relatives in Kerala for availing the TVoA facility.
Tourists wishing to avail the TVoA facility need to have a passport with a minimum validity period of six months. While applying for the TVoA, the foreign tourist needs to produce the proofs of return tickets and confirmed hotel booking. Applying tourists should not have any occupation or residence in any part of India.

As Kerala's Thriruavnathapuram and Kochi city's airports have started the operations of TVoA along with other cities like New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The Kerala tourism will take the advantage of this long lasting demand. The Kerala's tourism department will organize road shows and travel fairs in the part of campaigning in the above-mentioned eleven countries and will convince the people visiting Kerala. Kerala tourism department has set a target of making 30 lakh foreign tourists visit to the state by the end of year 2021.
