Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, one of the most reputed University in India has invited applications from candidates for their degree programmes which are being conducted at various colleges for the academic year 2014-15. After the announcement of the plus two results, students who wish to wish to go for higher education would choose those affiliated and constituent colleges which come under the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala University and Calicut University.
With under graduation programme which leads to the Bachelor's Degree in the relevant subject is extended for a period of six semesters. With an exception for Fine Arts and other courses as it require an entrance, the applications should be submitted online from 16th May 2014. Those who belong to the General Category have to pay Rs 200 while SC/ST students Rs 100 as application fee. Students need to pay the amount through selected branches of State Bank of Travancore on or before 23rd May. The last date and time of registration would be 27th May, 5 PM. For those who seek admission under Community Merit/Management Quota can apply till 13th June 2014.
Centralized Allotment Process: Brief Description (CAP)
As the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) is a new and innovative approach, those who are not familiar with it would have many doubts regarding the system. So for clarification, Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) is an internet based single window system which is being set to give allotments to the various academic programmes offered by the Mahatma University Departments and affiliated colleges.
As the allotment is conducted on the basis of the options submitted by the candidates, one should need to register only once for a course for opting any number of college/course combinations based on their eligibility. The simplicity and transparency in the system would enable the candidate to choose courses according to his/her interest.
Admission 2014: Important dates
Those whowish to apply for the UG programme conducted by the M G University, do rather keep a close look at the following important dates.
There will be marginal increase in the number of seats for various undergraduate programmes offered by the University. It is reported that with the introduction of few new courses, the number of seats is likely to increase from the existing 21,000 seats. All the seats in government colleges will be filled through CAP, 70% of the seats in aided colleges and 50%in unaided colleges will come under the single window system.
