Ingredients

Coconut barfi recipe 1) Mawa (khoya / reduced dry milk)- 2.75 kg
2) Sugar - 1.35 kg
3) Coconut grated fine and dried - 340 gm
4) Pink or green colour (if desired)

How to prepare

First make sure all the ingredients are available for you in front and set yourself to start the dish. Mix sugar with mawa (khoya / reduced dry milk) and put into a frying pan or gently heat it and stir it well. When mixture is ready (mixture forms balls when tested using your fingers) remove from fire. Now slowly add coconut to it and stir it well till all the content gets properly mixed. Spread on a clean tray keeping a little aside. Mix colouring to the portion set aside.

Note that the colour should be light. Put it back on fire and cook till it becomes creamy. Spread on top of the first layer and allow it to cool. When it is all set, cut into cubes and use as desired. Definitely try this yourself as it will be a thrilling experience for you in kitchen.
