Movies with innovative themes are not new in malayalam film industry. Adding one more to the line of movies with novel thoughts, here comes Anguram (The Sprout), directed by T Deepesh. The movie discusses the theme of virtues verses vices and highlights on the concept of righteous living. As 'Anguram' was shot mostly in Wayanad, forest and nature play a prominent part in the movie.
Much interestingly, a cat named Manikuttan plays the central character. Being an inventive attempt, Anguram will also be a novel experience for moviegoers in Kerala. More than an entertainer, the movie discusses relevant things in a very sensitive manner. It tries to delve into the concepts of virtues and sins and tries to convey the message that righteousness will survive even death.
Bipin Emily and Devi Ajith have given life to prominent characters in the movie. Anguram is being produced by Rithika Kandhari & Joe Ann under Designers Productions banner. The story and screenplay is handled by Valsalan Vathusseri, while the camera stayed safe in the hands of Jaleel Badusha. The music has been set by Madhu Govind.
Animals are used to convey messages in a symbolic way. Filmmakers try to include them purposely with most of them found success in the recent past. In 'Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu' directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, a she-goat named Pinky does the female lead. Anguram which has wrapped up shooting will reach theatres by the end of January 2015. As new themes and fresh ideas dominate the landscape of Malayalam cinema, the makers are expecting positive responses from the spectators for their experimental thoughts.
Meanwhile actress Devi Ajith is having a handful of releases in 2015. Her upcoming projects are Mili, Malootty Sabu, Ennu Ninte Moideen and TP 51. Mil and Ennu Ninte Moideen will reach theatres in January and February respectively. She has also done a key role in 'Yennai Arindhaal' alongside Ajith.
