* SOS button for senior citizens. By pressing the SOS button for 7 seconds, the handsets sends a siren to alert the surrounding people that the person is in trouble and should be immediately attended.

* Waterproof Handsets.

* It also sends SMS to pre-defined 5 numbers and start dialling those numbers automatically one after another till one call is attended.

This phone has easy interface,easy for elderly people to use.these models were first released by alcatel mobiles.

In India, Mobiles for Senior Citizens is launched in August by Munoth Communications based in Chennai. The special features are (a) Large Keypad (b) Large screen (c)Torch (d) Sturdy Body (e) Inbuilt GPS and (f) Red SOS button. SOS button is at the back. In Emergency situations, if pressed, siren will come out in the vicinity and at the same time, 10 Pre-set SMSes will be flashed to the relations, friends, Ambulance and to the Insurance Co. It even alerts if some body else try to take it out from the Suitcase. The phones emit low radiation and have a longer standby battery. Munoth Communications, Chennai is launching 9 models and they are outsourced from China and Hong Kong. Earlier they were the Distributors for Siemens and Panasonic phones.
