Indian Expatriates gets a Call Centre No 800-46342 and they can make calls to this Number, functioning on 24/7 basis. Free of Cost. The Indians abroad in distress can call this number to find a way out of their distress.

Malayalee Friends Group is a Charitable Society registered in Ahmedabad. This Group has malayalee members all over the world. The MFG is dong marvelous job in various areas of human interest like free matrimony, job mart etc. apart from creating a platform for interactions amongst knowledge mongers. A malayalee member, Mr Pravin Balan of Thrissur, settled now in Muscat had suggested sometime in January 2010 to MFG to explore the possibility of having a dedicated Toll Free Number that a NRI can call in exigencies of facing a danger, intimidation, physical violence etc. from either the sponsor or from a foreign national. Re-dressal or help should come through the Foreign Consulate or Embassy of the respective Foreign nation where the expatriate is in distress. MFG took it up in its earnest seriousness through their fellow members and this suggestion did reach the Ministries concerned. Sometime in October 2010, a team from MFG called on Shri TK Nair, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. Excited to share with you all that during the recent visit of our Hon. President of India Smt Pratibh D Patil to UAE last week, the Indian Workers Rescue Centre (IWRC) was dedicated on 23-11-2010 to the Indian expatriate community. Their Call Centre Line was activated with No 800-46342. This is naturally a great boon to all Indian expatriates. The next step is to give wide publicity to this Number through almost all modes indicating that Indians in UAE in distress can make free of cost calls to this number and register their complaint. There are many people who suffer abroad due to lack of support and information. No country can stop Indians in extending support to their fellow brothers and sisters from our soil.

The link www.iwrc-uae.com can be browsed for further details about the IWRC which gives an interesting picture, though not fully fucntional as it is in its infancy.

The link http://www.malayalifriendsgroup.org is very enthusiastic enough so as to have all the Malayalees registered there free of cost. At this site, one can access manifold areas of knowledge and this carries a platform for your sharing with others.

The mere fact that this toll free helpline is the first of its kind for migrant workers by any country in the World is itself a great moment to be proud to all the Malayalee community in the World.
