Mukkam Panchayath is located 24km away from the Kozhikode city and on the bank of Iruvanhi puzha which is the tributary of river Chaliyar.Mukkam panchayath was formed in the year 1961.For mukkam Panchayath,legislative assembly is Thiruvambadi and Lokhsabha assembly is Wayanad.Total geographical area is about 3128 hectors.

AGRICULTURE

In early times most of popuation were engaged in agriculture ,but now a day agricultural fields are converted in to some other purpose,mainly for settlement and commercial purpose.Important crops cultivating are Coconut,Areca nut,Rubber,and paddy in isolated patches.

This region is with highly undulating relief,part of keralas mid lands.Iruvanhi puzha flows as its border.
