Woman thrown out of train

A woman jumped out of runnig train to avoid and escape the attempt of rape in the night in Thrissur.

Attempt to rape

In a bid to escape from the molesters a 23 year old woman jumped out of a running train (Eranakulam-Shornur passenger) on Tuesday night. The incident took place near Cheruthuruty where the woman was found in unconscious state at 9.30 in the night. It is understood that a police team rushed the woman to the Thrissur Medical College Hospital and is still under treatment with severe head injury and fractured skull and is put on ventilator.

It shows that the women are not safe for travelling in the train during the night time without proper security and guard. The fact remains that in the compartment there were no other passengers and guard was present. The woman was working in a private firm in Kochi and was on her way home near Shornur in connection with a marriage proposal.

Railway department should provide adequate security and protection for the lady passengers travelling in the train during night time.
